As the sun starts to line and we replace our winter clothes with the bright shades of summer, it’s the perfect time to update your nail wardrobe. From bold new neons to softer caramels, here are the nail colors to try this summer.
The New Neutral
First from the nail colors to try this summer is the new neutral. The runways have been filled with muted tones of peach, coral and caramel. Simple to wear, flattering on shorter nails and can be worn with any outfit. There are many different tones, so you can find one that enhances your skin tone. Don’t worry about finding one that exactly matches yours if that look is a little too natural for you.
OPI’s Tiramisu For Two and Gelish’s Tan My Hide are both popular neutrals.

Glitter nails are a great way to add sparkle and the perfect way to inject glitter into daytime looks. Wearing glittery shades from mermaid influenced jewel tones, to subtle neutrals and bold neons are the perfect way to spice up your look.
We’re loving Essie’s new silver confetti polish in Congrats, which is filled with every color glitter you could ever need, for a multi-dimensional glitter look.

Nothing makes a tan glow more than fresh white nails. It stands out and enhances golden tones without clashing with an outfit, looking too glamorous for the daytime or appear unprofessional. Make sure your white polish is opaque for maximum effect.
One of our favourites is Zoya’s nail lacquering Genesis which adds a little bit of sparkle to the white polish trend.

Pastel nails have been a huge Spring/Summer trend for seasons now but 2019 is the year of lilac. Lilac is the perfect summer-ready purple as it’s soft and youthful without being as girly as pink or as edgy as a plum.
We love Essie’s Nail Polish in Tiers of Joy which is a lilac with a subtle metallic finish and the softer OPI Nail Lacquer in You’re Such a BudaPest.

Neon is a big trend through every aspect of fashion from neon pink stilettos to bright yellow eyeliner. Neon can be used as a full manicure, through nail art or as a fun accent nail. We love the neon green and orange shades but make sure it’s opaque and not a more muted pastel shade.
We love Essie’s neon green polish in Vice Versa and the bold yellow from Chanel Le Vernis in Giallo Napoli.

Stone blue is the perfect spring to summer transitional color because it’s brighter than a pastel but more subdued than an electric shade. This cool undertone blue is universally flattering on every skintone and a perfect option for those who prefer a darker manicure.
Check out Burberry Nail Polish in Stone Blue No.431 and OPI Peru Collection Nail Lacquer in Alpaca My Bags for their perfectly muted grey-toned blue hues.

Pearl jewelry is on the rise again and we are starting to see them appearing in manicures. If adding little pearls into your manicures feels a little daunting and too editorial for day-to-day life, try a pearlescent polish. We love the icy pinks and blue shades of pearlescent nail polish which incorporate the pastel and the pearl trends.
YSL have a stunning sea-foam green called Peace Green and shifting mermaid blue from OPI called This Color’s Making Waves.
